Paul has blessed me again with some of the coolest licks I'm ever going to want to try to play.
(Boy in the Lighthouse leaves me dizzy.)
Dude I have the actual album. As soon as it started, it was obviously not what was "leaked." The proof is in the pudding. You'd know that if you logged off once in a while.

Oh my god lmao. You mean that crusty 128kbps atrocity? That wasn't even Sunsetters, that was a hoax.
After the sensory overload of Summer Sucks, this feels like a total brain-massage. The tone colors are downright cohesive. I wasn't totally sure if this album would really sound like 'water' or not, but there's a downward-trending mood, right from the word "go," then there's this flow upward and down through the middle of the album, and we end up washed over with calm. And that bass. Oh mama. Paul is groovin.
Does Paul use any pedals?
The compositions certainly seem restrained here. I'm a bassist, of course, so bass is what I pay attention to, and while the grooves here aren't too prominent, they do still feel like solid anchors for the songs, like the bass may have been written first. I can appreciate that, these guys seem like a real bass-driven band to me.
Is he Conquest, Famine, or Death... that's the deep question. He wanders Earth, surrounded by death... does that make him Death? There's little talk of food, so I don't really see him being Famine. But Conquest... yes, I believe he is Conquest. He meets so many strange figures, like Chorus, Isis, the Pig King, Veles, Canio. And he conquers them all. Nobody truly defeats him, he always keeps going. And at the end, he's at the foot of Yggdrasil in a new world. The foot of the World Tree... the ultimate throne for Lucius the hero.
God I love this album.
